There are plenty of ways to hang lights, but we thought we’d go with the most basic and simplest option, punching holes in the wall.
And yes, it’s a bit of a boring option, but will do the job just fine for most people. So here’s how to do it.
Step 1. Dry and clean the surface
The big question is: how do you put up led lights? For a starter, you need a surface that is flat and easily cleanable.
Any area of your house will work, as long as it is not too large that you need to rent a large store for. The most important thing you will be hanging in your house is the lights.
The led lights we are going to be using are energy efficient and will need to be hung in your house. The rest is just putting up the lights.
Step 2. Unroll the light strip, stick to the surface
A flexible LED light strip that can be cut to any length, allowing you to easily position the light where you need it. Simply cut the strip to the required length, and stick the multi-coloured strip to a flat surface.
The flexible strip will then bend and unroll as it supports its own weight, allowing the light to be placed in any position.
Step 3. Connect LED light strip and turn on the light
In this third part of our series we continue with the LED light strip installation. We’ve already drilled the light bulb holder, and now it’s time to connect our light strip to the external circuit.
Take the two wires that came with the strip and put them in the appropriate sockets (the one marked “+” goes to the positive socket and the one marked “–” to the negative socket).
Where to set up led lights?

- At the corner of your ceiling
If you’ve ever set up a single-bulb, dimmable RGB LED fixture, chances are you’ve set it up with an Inline Connector. These are kind of like the tiny wires that connect all the individual RGB lights in one fixture, and allow you to control the color and brightness of each bulb individually.
While they’re easy to use and can be found everywhere from your ceiling fixture to your smartphone, they’re not the same as the traditional type of cable that connects RGB lights to a controller.
- Floor corners
LED lights come in all shapes and sizes, but they are not one-size-fits-all. We have found that the best place to install them is not necessarily where they are most accessible for the average consumer.
While you may want to place the light on your desk next to you, the best place to install it is on the floor corner directly next to you. This way, it will be easier to see the light when you are sitting at your desk.
Many LED lights come with a 48″ cord, which may be too much for a small office space, so you may want to consider making a switch out of an extension cord.
- Under your computer desk
One of the most common questions that we get when we talk about our lighting is where you should put your lights.
If you have a desk lamps or illuminating space under your desk, then you should consider putting your light under the desk as this will save you space and increase the brightness of your lights.
Computer desks can use a lot of LEDs. In a typical office, the typical model has eight, and in many offices they are switched on at all times.
The problem is, all those LEDs can get distracting and cause glare. With the advent of LED lights, you can have the benefit of low energy consumption and a bright light without being blinded by an unnecessary amount of LEDs.
- At the back of your TV
TV’s rear LED strip lights with something more interesting and better looking. Led strips are useful for decorating the back of TVs, but they can also be useful in a number of other ways.
It is a common myth that LED strip lights are only used to light up your home.
However, one of the most common uses of LED strip lights is in the entertainment industry as well. LED strip lights are used to light up the back of your flat panel TV.
- Gaming or entertainment room
Finding the right spot for your new lighting fixtures is important, especially in a house or commercial environment, and just about everyone has heard of the term “eye-level”.
That’s just what it means, and it refers to the height from the eye line to the center of the fixture.
A gaming or entertainment room usually needs plenty of ambient lighting. In such a space, you need to consider the mood you want to create.
If it’s a dark room, it will be best to illuminate the area with soft, gentle lighting. If it’s a space that requires more brightness, then you may need to use brighter lights.
LEDs, as well as CFL and halogen lights, are the best options for lighting due to their low energy consumption.
- Under your bed
You have a few options when it comes to lighting under your bed. Either you could set up a under bed light which comes on when a motion sensor detects a person on the other side.
It is very convenient to set your led lights up under your bed. Your bed stays quiet at night, and the led lights will be visible from your bedroom, living room or kitchen.
